Work Schedule

The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position is determined by the needs of the department.

Job Summary

Serves as the contact for employee related concerns and complaints as well as employee training and development. Position will keep the leadership informed on employee concerns and direct the implementation of employee programs. This position will provide supervision for the HR Specialist Sr., along with consultation and development of supervisors across the college and serve as the employee relations liaison.

Essential Functions

55% - Facilitates conversations related primarily to employee relations, training, wellness, and the employee recognition program. Incumbent hires, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned staff; collaborates with other team members to implement college programs and services such as the monthly supervisor meetings and resolves operational issues in collaboration with other managers.
35% - Develops and implements program strategies, goals, and objectives through participation in the college's strategic pathways; maintains accurate program and employee records; prepares reports, collects and analyzes data to inform decisions; prioritizes projects and initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives and guidelines.
10% - Oversees the resolution of escalated issues and customer concerns by functioning as a liaison with other internal and external constituents; identifies resource needs and makes recommendations; collaborates with college work teams to implement best practices and emerging technologies for the divisions and ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies, audit procedures, requirements, and/or standards; coordinates staff learning and training opportunities; performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, four (4) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.

OR

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, six (6) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.

OR

High School Diploma/GED from a regionally accredited institution in education, business or public administration, or related field, eight (8) years of related program management experience that includes two years of lead or senior level work, preferably in an educational setting.

Desired Qualifications

A. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
B. Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
C. Two (2) years experience in managing policies such as ADA, FMLA, Equal Employment Opportunity
D. Two (2) years of supervisory experience
E. Demonstrated experience in comprehending, interpreting, and applying the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
F. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
G. Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite or related software
