Why do we need you ?
The North American Purchasing Manager will serve as an individual contributor to the procurement team and provide strategic leadership regionally within North America fostering collaboration and being responsible globally for key category management. Working closely with plant managers as well as site and worldwide purchasing organizations you will develop and implement sourcing plans and strategies to support forecasted material requirements. This position will utilize e-tools to source, bid and purchase raw materials including Granulates, Polymers, Chemicals, with a focus on category management for the Global BU Omniseal Solutions division. You will be the main point of contact for the Business Unit to understand the business strategies and implement the best sourcing strategies and actions in collaboration with the North American Site (Bristol RI, Orange; Wayne, Cleveland, Garden Grove, CA & Saltillo (Mexico). Essential functions include: Evaluate ideas and strategies to develop short and long-term category strategies, translate ideas and strategies into sourcing actions and implement strategies based on an understanding of industry and business strategies. * Analyze and improve processes and supply chain practices to increase operational efficiencies and drive cost savings initiatives in our supply and production chains. * Analyze data points (e.g. supplier scorecards, history, market trends, inventory requirements, etc.) to implement sourcing strategies and mitigate supply chain related risks to the business. * Implement strategies for negotiating commodity purchase contracts based on in-depth knowledge and understanding of business requirements and knowledge of the domestic and international commodity market to achieve optimal pricing and terms. * Analyze Regional North America and global demand, supply and forecasts for assigned commodities and monitor ongoing global trends and their impact on the availability of assigned commodities. * In collaboration with North American sites, set the objectives (Savings & Risk mitigation) Perform category market analysis for raw material origination, application and cost structure and purchase commodities in accordance with approved buying programs and procurement policies in place and using technical judgment. * Prepare technical reports on raw materials needs and strategies based on in-depth understanding of industry best practices and technologies. * Perform market analysis of historical and potential future raw material purchases. * Work on the continuous improvement of category strategies to satisfy business volume, quality and total cost of ownership requirements. *Identify potential cost saving opportunities through supplier management and negotiations for assigned raw material categories. Monitor supplier performance, suggest improvements and optimize the supply chain by working with the plants, conducting supplier audits and identifying new raw materials to replace existing materials. * Conduct supplier quality audits with quality and R&D stakeholders to ensure all supply chain and quality requirements are met. * Maintain and monitor supplier scorecards based on quality and delivery performance. * Understand existing supply chain issues and work with suppliers to ensure smooth business operations. * Conduct market research to identify new sources, potential low-cost sources and new raw materials that can replace existing or expiring raw materials. Create and monitor Category Dashboard that includes SKUs, price history, contract status, key clauses, supply chain details, supplier sites and details. * Develop and implement raw material category objectives using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage objectives to ensure KPIs are met. * Conduct supplier meetings to maintain supplier relationship to ensure collaborative working throughout the supply chain and risk mitigation.

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering, Finance or related field * Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering or related field is preferred * 10+ years of Procurement experience * Procurement experience gained in large companies managing spend >$200M is preferred * Strong organization and communication skills to effectively work in a fast paced cross functional, multinational business environment * Category Management: directly responsible for managing productivity initiatives, pricing, contracts and long-term agreement negotiations * Compile and pilot periodic management reviews (performance status, strategic positioning evaluation, business perspectives, strategic product/market developments)

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $108,100 to $172,900 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $124,315 to $198,835. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
