The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position is: two (2) days in the office, three (3) days remote

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for completing detailed accounting reconciliations related to student payments and student owed refunds for balance sheet clearing accounts between the Student Information System (SIS), the General Ledger (GL), and third party payment processors. Other duties include providing assistance by responding to inquiries and researching specific solutions related to fiscal functions. The position works closely with the fiscal offices at each college to resolve discrepancies and ensure student account transactions are accurate.

Essential Functions

50% - Performs multiple complex and detailed account reconciliations between Student Information System (SIS) and the General Ledger; performs data analysis and investigates variance causes in multiple systems; directs college employees when corrections to student accounts are required; completes journal entries to the General Ledger as needed.

20% - Performs Item Type setup in the Student Information System (SIS) for non-financial aid Charges and Payments. This includes: monitor and respond to requests; review documentation for accuracy and adherence to policy; complete entry of the item type in SIS; process updates to existing item types as required, and maintain log of all Non-FA item types.

10% - Monitor department email, address requests related to reconciliations, help desk tickets, student refunds, item types; review for accuracy college performed tasks related to fiscal functions, including payment transfers between colleges and terms, and other fiscal related tasks; provides direction if corrections are required.

10% - Responds to inquiries that require investigating issues and advises of the solution to fiscal employees in the areas of accounting, student fiscal services, treasury, and other associated departments.

10% - Performs other duties as assigned, such as testing for projects related to student payments, and system upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of financial support experience in area related to assignment such as general accounting or financial reporting.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of financial support experience in area related to assignment such as general accounting or financial reporting.

Desired Qualifications

1. Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
2. Experience in account reconciliations, including investigating variances.
3. Proficient experience using Microsoft Excel.
4. Experience with accounting principles.
5. Experience in higher education accounting.
6. Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft applications such as Financial Management System (FMS) and Student Information System (SIS).
7. Experience advising customers on policies and procedures.

Special Working Conditions

Computer: May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor.
