Our Polymicro business within Molex is seeking a Process Engineer to support our Phoenix, Arizona location. The primary responsibility of this role will be developing processes, equipment and tooling for new and existing assembly products.

This specific Molex site (Polymicro) is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of silica capillary tubing and specialty optical fibers, optical fiber and capillary assemblies, discrete microcomponents and quartz optical fiber ferrules.

What You Will Do

    Use customer product requirements supplied by the sales department to create drawings and process documentation for use by the manufacturing and/or engineering department to generate productsDesign jigs and fixtures for use in production areas. Troubleshoot product design & product assembly methodsAssist in assembly product quotationsAuthor and execute material, process, and equipment validations based upon predefined statistical techniques and risk management standardsTroubleshoot equipment problems. Analyze mechanical or process problems and take corrective action within scope of responsibilities. Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment operations problems, make adjustments, replace component parts, and arrange for external repairsMaintain accurate and complete records of assigned engineering projectsMeet/visit customer to discuss technical issues and new product or process developmentsMust have an innovative & creative thought process since many of the products designed & produced are cutting edge prototypes with no prior build historyFollow company policy and procedures to communicate changesMaintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping practicesUnderstand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

      Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical or Process Engineering

      What Will Put You Ahead

      • Three (3) years or more experience in a manufacturing production environment
      • Mechanical Design experience
      • Experience in the field of specialty optical fibers or fiber optic assemblies
      • Experience with machine shop capabilities
      • Knowledge of SAP
