Civil Engineering EIT - Hydraulic/Hydrology

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Hydraulic/Hydrology Civil Engineering EIT at our Phoenix office. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works projects. This position has significant growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Registration(s): Registered Engineer-In-Training, or working towards an EIT

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Duties/Responsibilities:

    Preparing drainage calculations and reports
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies, drainage analysis and design, FEMA permitting, and construction documents for a wide range of water resources projects for both public and private clients
  • Analysis and design will include use of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, XPSWMM, Infoworks, Civil 3D and CivilStorm Drainage tools. Our projects require the application of cutting-edge software and engineering judement to develop sustainable solutions for our clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • 0-4 years' related experience
  • Registers Engineer-In-Training(EIT), or working towards an EIT
  • HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, XPSWMM, Infoworks, Civil 3D and CivilStorm Drainage tools
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Capability to utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Works well in a Team Environment
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
  • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
