ASML's Employee Relations team helps champion our Company values for a safe, ethical, and inclusive culture. The team is responsible for providing thought leadership, strategic advice, and expertise to Human Resources and Leaders in order to resolve issues of conflict, mitigate risk, ensure compliance and consistent and fair treatment with a goal of timely and positive resolution for employees, managers and the Company. This includes supporting and managing accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other applicable federal and state laws.

The ADA Specialist will work closely with applicants and employees to explore workplace accommodations that will assist applicants and employees in performing the essential functions of the positions they hold or seek, or otherwise equally participating in the benefits and privileges of employment.

The ADA Specialist will manage the company's comprehensive ADA Accommodation process, including but not limited to: initial request, obtaining and interpreting supporting medical documentation, understanding the position and its essential job functions, facilitating and engaging in the interactive process, evaluating medical support and request for accommodations in connection with restrictions or limitations of an employee upon return to work from a leave of absence or work-related injury or illness, documenting the company's decision on the request(s), appropriate follow up and check in to determine effectiveness of any accommodation(s) granted and facilitating necessary on-going communication with the employee and the business, and is responsible for using designated system(s) for status tracking, and creating reporting and other de-identified metrics to evaluate effectiveness and suggest continuous improvements to ASML process and policy.

Role and responsibilities

* Evaluates requests for accommodations under the ADA.

* Manages a caseload of open accommodation requests, with guidance and oversight.

* Responsible for engaging with employees, supervisors, and HR Business Partners to assist employees with disabilities who require workplace accommodations.

* Documents the employee's request for accommodation and facilitates the interactive process to determine the most effective and reasonable accommodation(s).

* Documents interactive discussions and communicates outcome of interactive discussions; maintains appropriate documentation and records

* Responsible and accountable for maintaining and protecting personal health information. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and abide by applicable regulations.

* Partner with Legal and Employee Relations to assist with the development of presentations, training, and workshops for best practices

* Analyze data related to accommodations and program efficiency and make recommendations based off the data

* Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working in Human Resources with 5 years of relevant work experience in the following areas: Employee Relations, Accommodations, Leave of Absence
  • Experience with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act required.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, remain impartial and withhold judgment, basing decisions on objective facts and information, and work under stress and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs.
