Job Description:

**Position Overview:**

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our Foundry Engineering Group, which serves as the pivotal technology liaison between Microchip Technology and our external wafer foundry partners. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our design-to-production workflow, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency in our stream out processes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Conduct Design Rule Checking (DRC) on current Microchip designs to ensure compliance with foundry specifications.

- Collaborate closely with Microchip's (MCHP) internal design teams and external foundry partners to facilitate effective communication and project alignment.

- Provide support in refining and executing the stream out process, contributing to the enhancement of design transfer protocols.

Requirements/Qualifications:

**Job Requirements:**

- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, or Material Science with a focus on semiconductor device physics.

- A foundational understanding of statistics, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Unix/Linux operating systems.

- A familiarity with advanced semiconductor fabrication processes, statistical analysis techniques, and semiconductor testing methodologies.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

- Prior exposure to semiconductor design tools (such as layout and DRC software) is highly desirable.

- Availability to commit to a project duration of 3-6 months.
