In this newly created position, the Talent Acquisition Search Consultant, Strategic Hires will augment the TA team by providing pivotal direction to the search and select of strategic / business critical mandates in North America. A large part of this role is to ensure that we identify, attract and secure diverse talent for strategic positions to maintain our market-leading position and achieve our ambitious growth plans.


You will be hands-on in sourcing and attracting candidates, and will work alongside our existing TA teams to proactively identify gaps in the organization, keeping a pulse on the talent market and providing insights into how to run an exceptional process for our senior / strategic hires.


Further responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with the TA team and leadership to identify strategic needs.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop a detailed profile of target candidates and implement tactical resource planning (both immediate and long-term).
  • Identify target industries with transferable skills to source talent from.
  • Lead briefing sessions with hiring managers to fully understand role and person specifications, appropriate target companies, skills and behaviors required etc. Agree individual recruitment plans.
  • Create and nurture an engaged pool of potential and existing candidates, keeping them and the business aware of potential opportunities.
  • Build out talent networks across the industry, and adjacent sectors, and provide market insight and intelligence to the business.
  • Participate in update meetings on active searches, providing status reports and presentations where necessary.
  • Conduct initial shortlisting interviews; clearly positioning role requirements and opportunity whilst articulating our purpose and values.
  • Build positive relationships with both hiring managers and candidates by promoting our employer brand and offering outstanding candidate experience throughout the selection process.
  • Help to drive Mott MacDonald's EDI initiatives throughout recruitment processes.
  • Collaborate with the wider people team and work closely with the TA team to provide support, expertise and sharing suitable candidates for other roles.
  • Use TA technology to develop and nurture a pipeline of candidates.
  • Ensure recruitment marketing material are in line with our brand and tone of voice.

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following:

  • Proven experience talent sourcing in a Corporate, complex, professional services environment, ideally from the A/E/C industry, with an emphasis on executive search and/or strategic recruitment.
  • Highly effective in developing and delivering sourcing strategies and creating talent pipelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively yet autonomously and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work across multiple searches through project management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience of using TA technology; applicant tracking systems, candidate sourcing and relationship management tools.
  • Proven ability to deliver an excellent and professional candidate experience to senior candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Be customer focused, ensuring candidates and stakeholders receive an engaging and consistent experience.
  • Social media savvy with complimentary ideas of how to best utilize platforms to drive talent attraction.
