Production and Value Stream Planner

Summary

The Production and Value Stream Planner will oversee, and problem-solve general operations that encompass product delivery, shipment, supply chain and vendor relations.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot scheduling issues as they arise.
  • Set up and manage production program plans.
  • Day to day understanding of short-term and long-term manufacturing constraints.
  • Ability to analyze changes in the business environment and make suggestions for improvement of the scheduling system.
  • Responsible for the daily execution of all program plans to ensure the plans are met and all products are in stores on ship-ahead date.
  • Ability to develop and set up basic program plans.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and have the ability to train inventory control methods.
  • Full proficiency of the Basic Production Control Skills.
  • Understanding of MRP and CRP concepts (Routings, BOM Explosion, Effectivity Dates, Order Recommendations, Load to Capacity).
  • Act as a liaison between supplier and internal customers (Engineering, Marketing and Manufacturing) bringing forth issues that surface with recommended solution paths and follow through to positive conclusion.
  • Effectively negotiate with suppliers for optimum Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Must possess follow-up and accuracy with recordkeeping of agreements, transactions and communications.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple assignments and tight deadlines.
  • Cognizant of standard manufacturing processes.
  • Fully proficient in developing effective Procurement Plans - Monitoring Quality, Cost, and Schedule Performance, and implementing Corrective/Preventative Actions where risk presents itself.
  • Purchase materials, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business or technology.
  • Ability and willingness to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with unexpected requests and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Possess a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Attention to details and accuracy are critical.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision and with all levels of the organization
  • Commitment to protect confidential and sensitive employee and business information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and with teams representing the organization in an effective manner.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. Work is performed near moving mechanical parts and team member will have exposure to loud noises from operating equipment. The team member is required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment at all times while on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Requirements

Light work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force infrequently, and/or a negligible amount of force occasionally to move objects.

  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, bend and kneel.
  • Ability to often reach with hand and arms and grasp.
  • Ability to frequently talk and hear.
  • Ability to frequently stand.
