Procurement & Vendor Management (P&VM) aligns Navy Federal's procurement strategy and execution with operational, financial, and strategic priorities. P&VM leads Navy Federal's efforts in sourcing, acquisition planning, contract negotiations, contract administration, and holistic vendor management, including third-party risk management, to ensure operational requirements are satisfied and risks are properly managed. We strive to deliver in a timely manner and maximize value on behalf of our internal customers and Members to reach enterprise strategic goals. We also work with business units to buy, lease, and sell personal and real property.

Basic Purpose:
Procurement and Vendor Management leverages best in class practices and sound sourcing processes that drive reliable and innovative Total Cost of Ownership initiatives. The team is continuously evolving to maximize efficiencies by coordinating sourcing and procurement activities across departments to ensure effective delivery of committed products, services and solutions to NFCU.
We are looking for a summer Intern (Undergraduate or Graduate Student) to work on site or remotely and report to leadership at our Vienna, VA campus. Responsibilities will include working with strategic sourcing managers to collect data from business unit stakeholders for RFx events. This intern will also lead and execute low dollar sourcing events through source selection. This intern will help collect, organize, and analyze data to identify areas of opportunity, deficiencies, and trends. This intern will help refine and manage the strategic sourcing documents repository which will include ensuring all team documents regarding sourcing events are stored and filed correctly. Lastly, this intern will help triage intake request to determine next steps in the procurement and vendor management process and other duties as assigned.
This role will be a member of the Procurement and Vendor Operations (PVO) Team - a versatile group of problem solvers with a wide variety of skills and experience. The PVO team has a wealth of expertise in Strategic Sourcing, Project Management, Procurement, Data Analytics and Training. This 10-12-week internship program is designed to empower growth by exploring the dynamic nature of the industry throughout Procurement and Strategic Sourcing. Your summer will be focused in one of many disciplines within Procurement and Strategic Sourcing. Throughout the summer, you will be able to expand your knowledge of Procurement and Vendor Operations while also gaining unprecedented exposure to PVO leadership along the way.
Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master's Degree in supply chain, business, engineering (with focus on supply chain/business) or in related field
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical skills - comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
* Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
* Strong knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Office tools
* Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task
* Undergraduate candidates must have an expected graduation date between December 2022 and August 2023. Graduate level candidates must have an expected graduation date between December 2022 and August 2023.
